Where are your exhaust systems made?

We are an Italian company that has been in business since 1954. In fact, we share the honor of being one of the two oldest motorcycle exhaust manufacturing companies in the world, along with Yoshimura.

Our pipes are designed, manufactured and tested in the town of Alba, which is about 50 miles east of Turin in northern Italy.

How are your pipes manufactured?

Being a 53 year old company we employ a mixture of both old-world craftsmanship and the latest technology the industry has to offer. For example, welding, assembly and even packaging are all done by hand, while design, R&D and testing are all performed with the aid of computers, CAD/CAM programs and dynos. Another important aspect to the construction of our exhaust systems is that they are built entirely in-house. The titanium and carbon fiber silencers, the carbon fiber brackets, springs, straps everything you see (except a few nuts and bolts) were machined, stamped or produced by our technicians, even our new electronics.

Are they expensive?

No. Typically our slip-ons and full systems for street bikes are in the same price bracket (if not less expensive) than most of the other exhaust suppliers. This is true for our off-road systems as well. The key is that our quality and longevity is much better - even though are our prices similar.

What do SBK and X3 mean?

SBK is our brand for street bike based slip-ons and full systems. The X3 brand is for our off-road 4-stroke Motocross and Enduro pipes as well as our products for ATVs.

Do I have to rejet my bike or modify my fuel maps?

No. At LeoVince we ENGINEER our exhausts to be plug and play! For street bikes our slip-ons will bolt on and offer a substantial performance increase without any further work. The same holds true for our full systems. We suggest disconnecting the battery and leaving it disconnected for a few minutes after installing either pipe, then reconnecting the battery and starting the bike. This allows the ECU to reset and adjust its own air/fuel parameters based on its sensor readings. Should you want to add an air filter, change fuel maps, adjust the ECU or make other performance enhancements we suggest you invest in dyno time with a professional facility. This will ensure you only further increase the significant performance gains a LeoVince full exhaust system will give you. For dirt bikes we always recommend the stock jetting. Our pipes perform very well with stock jetting and rarely require any changes.

What is the difference between Enduro and Motocross systems?

The Enduro and Motocross systems are built for two different purposes and riders:

  • Enduro slip-ons and full systems are designed for off-road trail and competition use where the rider wants increased performance but due to personal preference or local regulations, the system needs a lower dB output.
  • Note: Enduro models are available as aluminum slip-ons or as a full titanium system. The Enduro silencer employs both a mechanical baffle and packing material. In open mode you can expect the Enduro pipe to emit a level of 97-98dB. In quiet mode, the silencer will emit anywhere from 90-94dB (depending on the size of the engine). A removable spark arrestor is also included.
  • Motocross slip-ons and full systems are built for 4-stroke race bikes and riders who either race or ride motocross or compete off-road (desert or cross-country).
  • Note: Motocross models are available as aluminum slip-ons or full titanium systems. The full systems are also available in two separate header configurations: standard and low-boy. The Motocross silencer employs a more typical construction of a non-baffled core with our special high-density packing material. In open mode you can expect the sound level to be in the 100-102dB range. In quiet mode (with the included optional end-cap), sound output is typically in the 97-98dB range. A removable spark arrestor is also included.
What is the difference between Factory and Oval?

Factory end cans are made from titanium with a carbon or titanium sleeve on them as well as being the shape of an oval with a flat top and bottom. The Ovals are a Stainless construction with an aluminum, carbon, or titanium sleeve, and being the traditional oval shape.

What is EVO II?

EVO II is an insert in the end can that takes the db level down to around stock. The EVO II insert is removable and when removed is the same system and performance gains of a non EVO II system.

Can I buy a slip-on now and buy the header later?

Our newest X3 off-road aluminum/stainless systems do allow you to do this. They are specifically engineered for that application.

In other cases, the answer is no. We individually engineer each system for every fitment to maximize performance gains. We spend a lot of time researching and developing our pipes, their performance characteristics and specific pipe sizing. We build our slip-ons to work with the diameter of the OEM headers, whereas our headers from full systems are typically larger in diameter. Due to this difference in diameters our headers will not work with a slip-on that has been designed to fit with a smaller stock diameter header.

How do I replace the silencer packing?

LeoVince uses the industy's best ceramic based packing and typically does not need to be replaced unless exposed to unusual wear conditions. For those rare cases repacking kits are available from LeoVince. Here are the repacking instructions.
