A clean Dirt Works ATV prior to 6 hours of hell

Tim Miller using the broad power to stay out front in the field sections

TEAM DIRT WORKS PUTS IN THE HARD HOURS

One of the toughest ATV competitions has been the Maxxis 6 hours of ATV America. There's no better environment to truly test a products quality than in an endurance race.

Team Dirt Works chose this year to run LeoVince exhaust. After winning the Class A championship, Tim Miller had this to say about the LeoVince exhaust system on his YFZ450.

"Our Leo Vince X3 exhaust has been totally outstanding at all of the Maxxis 6 Hours of ATV America events we have raced this year! Our 2004 Yamaha YFZ was really pulling hard all throughout the rpm range. It was very noticeable in the long field sections where we consistently passed the other teams. Not once during either of these races did we lose a position in the fields. Aside from the unbelievable power and performance we get from our X3 system, it's also nice to race with a pipe that so easy on the ears! Racing for six straight hours is tough enough on the rest of your body. The durability of the X3 system was also a vital part of our success. Several other teams lost all or part of the exhaust during these races. By the rules you can not continue without immediately replacing your exhaust system. This time lost was devastating for those teams."

Thompson proves broad LeoVince power and skill can get you within fractions of lap records on a detuned GSX-R

LEOVINCE POWERED THOMPSON AT ROAD ATLANTA

At the WERA Grand Nationals the most prestigious race of the weekend is the Suzuki GSX-R1000 Cup. This is a horsepower and weight limited class that is sponsored by Suzuki. The 1000 Cup horsepower limit is 185hp and weight is limited to 380lbs. Although the Millennium/KWS Suzuki Superstock bikes are in no danger of going below the weight limit, the bikes have to be detuned significantly to get under the peak 185hp limit. Crew Chief Michael Godin along with Rick Matheny and Evan Steel worked very hard to detune the powerful GSX-R to get under the limit yet retain broad usable horsepower across the RPM range to win the race.

With Thompson clicking off lap times just factions over AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies, this illustrates perfectly the need for linear not peak horsepower in a performance motorcycle. A performance goal LeoVince understands very well.

Thompson got a great start to get the early lead but was passed on lap two by Tray Batey. Thompson followed Batey for several laps until the race was stopped for a crash. On the restart Ben felt very comfortable following Batey a couple of bike lengths back and was waiting until the last lap to make his move for the win. Unfortunately the race was stopped again for a crash just past the half way mark and the race was called complete with Thompson in second place. After the race the top three finishing bikes were brought to tech to be weighed and put on the dyno to check horsepower. Batey’s bike was measured .3 horsepower over the limit and he was docked three positions making Ben Thompson the winner.

Demuth returns with a surprise performance

Fully 25% of the field ran LeoVince

JOSH DEMUTH AND GROWING PRO FIELD AT US OPEN FORTELL A SOLID 2008 SEASON

What a weekend LeoVince had in Vegas!  With 25% of the competitive field running LeoVince Exhaust systems there’s no doubt Europe’s largest exhaust manufacturer is on solid ground now in the USA. If the results from the US Open are any kind of preview, LeoVince is poised for a great 08 season.

A few LeoVince teams and riders of note at the 2008 US open were  Hart and Huntington's Josh Demuth, Hooter's/Tamer/LeoVince's Eric Sorby, Jason Thomas, Bryan Johnson, Jerry Lymburner, Chris Blose, Kyle Tobin, Leighton Lillie, and Cole Siebler.

Hart and Huntington's Josh Demuth had a weekend to remember! Josh finished a respectable 6th on Friday night and came back on Saturday to lead the main event for 7 laps before being passed for the lead, he ended up 2nd for the night and 3 overall for the weekend and top privateer as well!

Hooter's/Tamer/LeoVince's Eric Sorby had some good rides but couldn't quite get into the main event either night.  He is pumped for the new year to start and Team manager Kevin Maret is excited to have Hooter's on board for 2008.

Wyvern Motorsports had three riders under their tent using LeoVince Systems, Cole Siebler, Leighton Lillie, and Kyle Tobin.  Siebler looked very good and had a chance to make the main on Saturday night but crashed really hard on the next to last lap in his semi.

Bulter Brothers MX team of Jason Thomas and Bryan Johnson ran LeoVince systems as the team manager forgot their fmf systems on Friday.  Saturday they both got the fmf systems but elected to run LeoVince as it was a better fit for them!

Garrett & his LeoVince equipped Honda CRF were too fast for the competition

SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GARRETT WILLIS BREAKS SPEED RECORD AT BONNEVILLE

Taking time out from his successful supermoto and roadracing career LeoVince sponsored rider Garrett Willis headed to Bonneville. Willis's his mechanic Mike Wymer had witnessed the competition in 2006 and was convinced that together they could beat the standing dirt bike record. Hours and hours of mechanical preparation were needed. Garret reported that the LeoVince modifications aided in producing the power and higher revs needed to break the record.

The first day Garrett barely broke the record of 120mph. On day two some ingenious areodynamic modifications made from plastic and duct tape pushed the record further to 122.464mph. Garrett’s advice for those interested in making a similar run at Bonneville…be prepared to meet some great people and watch out for the wind buffeting if you’re doing it on a dirt bike.

You can run the exact same supermoto exhuast system on your 07 CRF450R. Part# 3752

Cairoli wins again and heads to MX1 in 2008

ANTONIO CAIROLI MX2 CHAMPION AGAIN

The MX2-GP number one plate returns to Cairol's after a season long battle with Christophe Pourcel and Tommy Searle. The championship was claimed in Ireland in a classic hard fought race.

Tommy Searle took the lead early after Cairoli got a poor start. Cairoli rode flawlessly and moved up through the pack. With only 2 laps to go Searle still had a 12 second lead but amazingly Cairoli caught up and made the crucial race winning pass half way through the last lap. Cairoli expressed regret that his traditional rival Christophe Pourcel was not in the race due to severe crash during practice.

This is the second time Cairoli has brought home the championship to the mechanically brilliant Team De Carli; the first was back in 2005. The Team De Carli tuned YZ250F used the same durable lightweight exhaust technology you can purchase here.
