AMA Road Racing Season Ends
LeoVince Riders Finish Strong at Season Finale
Millville NJ, September 6- LeoVince riders Aaron Yates and Chaz Davies both end their 2009 season with podium finishes.
Aaron Yates finished the 2009 AMA Superbike season with two podium finishes at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville. Yates who qualified third, finished a mere .08 seconds behind the second place finisher in race 1 and .19 seconds behind the second place finisher in race two. He ended the season with seven podium finishes and seventh place with 290 points.
"It feels really good to be up here and finish the year out with a few decent finishes.”-Aaron Yates
Fellow Jordan Suzuki team mate Geoff May finished the season in 8th place with 2 top 10 place finishes in New Jersey following a frustrating double DNF weekend. May rode consistently throughout the year with only 5 finishes outside the top 10. May finished the season eighth position with 234 points.
"After the debacle at VIR, it's good to get a decent result here at NJMP. While I'd like
to be fighting a little higher up, there is a real good group of riders here this weekend and this is
the closest field we've had all year. We had a pretty good motorcycle today but it wasn't quite
enough to push it that extra bit."-Geoff May
KWS Factory Aprilia rider Chaz Davies in the Dayton Sportbike class finished his season with a second place finish in race one. In race two Chaz led the first nine laps before he lost traction on the front tire and went down and was not able to continue. Chaz finished his season ninth in the points championship.
"It was a great season and the only thing I could wish for is more time. I think that if we could have started the season with the bike we have now we could have been in contention for a championship. I truly can't thank my team and my sponsors enough for everything they did this year."
-Chaz Davies
