Leandro Mercado Crowned AMA Supersport Champ
LeoVince Sponsored Rider Captures AMA Title
Daytona, FL- Leandro Mercado was crowned the AMA Supersport Champion after he won the
Supersport Shootout at Daytona International Raceway. At the AMA's "winner
take all" Supersport event, Mercado made a pass on the last turn of the last
lap to win the championship. After missing several mid season races due to
visa issues Mercado won the one race that counted the most. Mercado is
riding the LeoVince sponsored Monster Attack Kawasaki's ZX-6R with LeoVince's Factory Corsa Full Titanium Exhaust System.
"I really had to work hard to catch him. The only place I could pass him was in the second horseshoe as I was a little faster there. I was afraid to do it because the bike moved a lot and I didn't want to leave a final draft for him. I didn't have any other opportunities to pass, but on the last lap I had a really good run out of the chicane."-Leandro Mercado
