More Podiums for Husqvarna as Graffunders Prepare for Nationals

July 5, 2011 – Saint John, NB – Feeding Performance Husqvarna’s Ryan Graffunder has been on the gas at regional races in British Columbia this spring and has nailed another batch of Pro Podiums.

Graffunder, the 2009 & 2010 Top Pro Junior, has collected 3 Pro Podiums at recent races in BC as he wraps up his final preparation for the opening rounds of the Canadian Enduro Championship which kicks-off this weekend at Sun Peaks Resort outside Kamloops, BC.

Each podium has included Graffunder finishing a strong 2nd Overall on his new TC 449 behind smoking fast, 2009 Canadian Champ, Bobby Prochnau.  Graffunder climbed the podium at this year’s Rock Hound Hare Scramble in Salmon Arm, the Dragon Spray Hare Scramble near Kamloops and the Full Throttle Hare Scramble in Vernon, BC.

Ryan’s brother and Husqvarna Canada team-mate, Nick Graffunder, has put in some serious training over the winter and is hungry to show what he can do with his new TXC 250 at the upcoming CECs. Although he ran Top 5 Pro at this year’s Dragon Spray Hare Scramble, Nick was forced to miss several of the regional races as he sorted a problem with his knee.

“My knee has been an unpredictable issue for me” said Nick. They couldn’t really tell what the problem was until I had an MRI that showed my knee cap was actually fractured.  Its okay right now and I expect to be fine to race the first 4 Nationals.  If it does continue to be a problem, I may look at having corrective surgery after the Alberta rounds with the hope of being ready for the Ontario and Quebec rounds in September.

“The new 449 has been awesome” says Ryan Graffunder. “It is a huge improvement over last year’s bike.  It’s wicked in the fast stuff, a beast for the big climbs and I’m really loving the set up now. We’ve worked hard to sort through some issues we had at the last race and now I can’t wait to get to Sun Peak’s this weekend”.

In only its second year of competition, the FP Husqvarna team has enjoyed an enormous amount of success.  Since entering its first races the spring of 2010, the FP crew has fought their way to over 50 Pro Class Podiums in Regional and National races across the country; including more than 20 Wins.

In 2010, the new Husqvarna team finished its debut season in the Canadian Enduro Championship with 10 Pro Class Podiums and the Top Pro Junior Award.  

With 9 Wins and almost 20 podiums already under its belt in 2011, including a clean sweep of both the Pro and the Ladies A Classes in the opening rounds of the CMRC Quebec Off-Road Series, the Husqvarna Canada squad is definitely on track for another great racing season!

In a true testament that the Husqvarna Invasion of Canada is in full swing, so far in 2011, local Husky racers, from Novices to seasoned Vet Pros, have already accumulated over 100 Podiums in Motocross, Off-Road, Ice Racing and Supermotard races across the country; including more than 45 Wins and 2 National Ice Racing Championships!
